Highly sensitive rapid tests will be distributed to medical institutions of the city and the southern region of Donetsk region. Mayor Vadym Boichenko and Deputy Mayor Ksenia Sukhova appreciated the Fund for their help and continued cooperation.
According to the Mayor, Mariupol systematically approached the fight against coronavirus. In their actions, they rely on the experience of European countries. A clear work algorithm was developed. It is divided into three stages - prevention of infection, limiting its spread and training of medical workers. All doctors were provided with personal protective equipment in time.
Tests for the initial diagnosis of COVID-19 allow you to check a patient with suspected virus in 15 minutes. Due to them, doctors can quickly diagnose COVID-19 and isolate its carriers.
‘In the southern region of the Donetsk region, Mariupol is a base for hospitalization of patients with suspected and confirmed diagnosis of COVID-19. Such assistance is very important, especially during the period of global demand for medical equipment,’ Ksenia Sukhova added.
A hospital base with 40 beds has been set up at the emergency hospital where adult patients with coronavirus infection are treated. In the city hospital № 4 - 41 beds are for hospitalization of children. All of them are provided with the necessary equipment - defibrillators, cardiographs, pulse oximeters and mechanical ventilators .
