A clear algorithm has been developed for the admission of patients with the COVID-19 coronavirus, if such there is such a need in Mariupol. In the city hospital No. 4, a hospital base has been organized where infected children will be accommodated. Today Mayor Vadym Boichenko checked the readiness of the institution to receive patients.

The Mayor got acquainted with the infectious ward, which now has 41 beds. Six of them are resuscitative. Each is provided with a ventilator and a monitor for monitoring the patient's condition.

The director of the hospital, Vladimir Zhigil, also demonstrated to Vadym Boichenko the installation of external and internal oxygen pipelines. The system was installed in record time - for just 10 days. These measures were funded by Metinvest Group. Such points will be equipped in three medical institutions of the city. For these purposes, the company allocated almost UAH 10 million.

‘It must be understood that mechanical ventilation devices do not work without an oxygen system. Therefore, it is important to quickly install such systems in each hospital where it is planned to place patients with coronavirus. It happens due to our partners who helped us to arrange this in a quick way,’
Vadym Boichenko stressed.

In turn, Vladimir Zhigil appreciated the city authorities for providing the doctors with all the necessary protective equipment and a bonus of 200% of the salary.

‘The key is to provide maximum protection for doctors and prepare hospitals to receive patients. We are already fully prepared for the first stage. Doctors have the necessary amount of personal protective equipment, and hospitals are equipped with medicines. I’m sure that together we can reduce the spread of COVID -19,’
the Mayor noted.
