Mariupol has become the ninth city in Ukraine, which was visited by an American international company. It provides a taxi service. Mayor Vadym Boichenko was the first to appreciate the new service. He drove an electric car along Myra Ave. to Freedom Square.

‘The dynamics of the development of Mariupol is visible both in Ukraine and at the international level. The principles of openness and transparency in our work become the basis for attracting world-famous companies to the city. The key is that with each brand that enters Mariupol, new opportunities are created for residents, new jobs and new development prospects. Mariupol is a city with great potential and the attraction of such a large company is a confirmation of this,’ Vadym Boichenko said.

According to Georgy Sokolyansky, head of development for Uber in Central and Eastern Europe, the company's goal is to provide safe, fast, reliable and comfortable movement around the city for every resident and guest of Mariupol. Based on the experience of 600 cities around the world, it significantly increases the mobility of citizens and contributes to the development of urban infrastructure.

According to the company, the developed technologies  improve safety before, during and after the trip. In addition, all drivers must confirm that they regularly disinfect their vehicle and have hand sanitizer available.
