Six new modern trolleybuses were gifted to the city by the Donetsk Regional State Administration in honor of the 239th Anniversary of the city and the 85th Anniversary of the Donetsk Region. The cost of one unit of equipment is about 5 million UAH. They will be the most demanded for the route No. 15 of the city.
The new transport was presented for Mariupol citizens after the solemn rally dedicated to the Liberation Day of the city. Victor Remsky, the Deputy Head of the Donetsk Regional State Administration, together with Vadym Boichenko, the Mayor, personally handed over keys of the new trolleybuses to the drivers of the Mariupol Trams and Trolleybuses Administration.
Vasyl Klat, the Director of the Transport and Communications Department, told about the peculiarities of the new equipment: “New trolleybuses are equipped with air conditioning, Wi-Fi, GPS-navigation, video surveillance, a monitor for broadcasting social advertising and also have 24 seats. And most important thing, that they are adapted to the needs of people with disabilities: low bus body landing, folding ramp, information boards inside and outside, synchronizing the number of the route and stops both internally and externally.
Vadym Boichenko told the Deputy Head of the Donetsk Regional State Administration how municipal transport was developing in the city, the new routes were opened and trams, trolleybuses and buses were purchased in order to create competition for private carriers.
Victor Remsky emphasized during the presentation of trolleybuses: “There is no such city in the country which has got that much equipment as Mariupol has. Mariupol people must be proud of this, appreciate it and help the maintaining it in good condition”.
