The deputies unanimously supported the appeal to the Metinvest Group with a request to consider a new location for the construction of Metinvest Polytechnic University at the session of Mariupol City Council. Thus, a modern educational hub for young people can appear near the Peace and Freedom Square.
‘I appreciate everyone who joined the project. Thank you for uniting in order to construct and develop our city and a new Metinvest Polytechnic University. I appreciate you that you do not stay aside’, Vadym Boichenko noted.
Secretary Ksenia Sukhova noted that 90% of Mariupol residents want to have such a university in the city by the sea. According to her, Metinvest Polytechnic is a European education for Mariupol children and Ukraine. It will open new opportunities in training and professional growth.
‘The community supports the opening of a new university in Mariupol. These are popular specialties and modern education. Practice and employment of hundreds of citizens’, Ksenia Sukhova emphasized.
The proposed place near the Peace and Freedom Square, where the wasteland is located, has everything you need: utilities, transport interchange and area for the construction of a hostel. There is also a place to create a park area and a common sports area for Metinvest Polytechnic, Mariupol State University and other educational institutions.
‘It's a great victory. Development unites. I appreciate all of you,’ the Mayor summed up.
