During the session of the city council, the deputies have supported an issue of ratification of the guarantee contract, refund and support of the project, concluded between Mariupol city council and European Bank for Reconstruction and Development. It envisages the purchase of 72 modern trolleybuses.
The project approval gives the opportunity to renovate trolleybus fleet of Mariupol, to improve the volume and the quality of the services for the citizens and the guests of the city. It should be noted, at this time tender procedures for the purchase of new transport items are being effected. The trolleybuses will be purchased by EBRD.The total amount of the tender is EUR 13300000. 3 mln of them are grant funds and 10 mln are credit ones.
The technical task for the purchase is developed with the maximum demands to the comfort and safety of the passengers. The trolleybuses will be equipped with the low floors, air conditioning, route markers, electronic informational system and automatic announcement of the bus stops as well as video control system and automatic counting system of passengers.
To recap, ‘Renewal of the trolleybus fleet in Mariupol’ project envisages the reconstruction of the trolleybus depot 4, the purchase of specialized equipment and repairs of trolleybus wired area. The total amount of the project realization is EUR19,9 mln.
