On February 16, Ukraine celebrates a new public holiday - the Day of Unity. In Mariupol, 300 blue and yellow flags decorate the central streets of the city.
In particular, state symbols appeared along Mira Avenue. The flags are symbols of the unity of Ukraine. On this day, residents are also encouraged to independently hang national flags near their houses, on cars and attach blue and yellow ribbons to their clothes.
It should be noted that yesterday the Ukrainian flag was also installed to the Mariupol steelmaker.
It is also worth noting that in accordance with the decree of the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky, annually on February 16, the Day of Unity will be celebrated at the state level in Ukraine. According to the decree, on this day the State Flag of Ukraine will be hoisted on houses and structures in all settlements, the National Anthem of Ukraine will be performed at 10:00 a.m. and relevant events aimed at uniting and supporting Ukraine will be held by foreign diplomatic institutions of Ukraine in the host states.
