Mayor Vadym Boichenko has given a tour into the future at a meeting with the community. We ‘walked’ through Hurov Park, Freedom Square, Peschanyi beach, went into the Neptune pool and the Ice Arena, visited Aqua Park and looked at the renewed Khmelnitsky boulevard and the station square.
Following Left Bank district, Kalmiuskyi district is waiting for the reconstruction. Reconstruction of a number of objects is in progress. Among them there are Hurov Park and the Neptune swimming pool. Modern fountains, new locations and activities, a barbecue area will breathe new life into it. Thus, a new cascading fountain will be created near the ‘Ukrainian House’. A light-dynamic musical pedestrian fountain will also appear. It will be equipped with additional options - a fogging system to create the effect of fog and a laser projection to create a show. There will be a Christmas tree and its own New Year's story in the Park.
In addition, there is an initiative to transform Extreme Park into Disneyland in Mariupol. The Palace of Culture ‘Ukrainian House’ is also waiting for the rebirth, the financial resource of the European Investment Bank will help turn it into a transformer hall for various events.
The Neptune pool will also be changed. The building is completely reconstructed and the adjacent territory will be improved. A new facade with LED-backlighting, the replacement of stained-glass windows and utility networks, interior decoration, landscaping of the surrounding area - all this will turn it into a place-magnet. As well as the new sports facility - the Ice Arena on the Left Bank of the Donbass hockey club. It will open up new opportunities for hockey and figure skating.
The reconstruction of Freedom Square with a parabolic fountain is in process in the city center. The residents and guests of the city will be able to walk under the water arch. The scene will be the epicenter of the square. They plan to give a second life to Khmelnitsky Boulevard and the forecourt.
‘Peschanyi’ beach is going to be renovated in a European way. It will have an amphitheater, a sand zone and a funicular from Mariakov township. The dream project is the water park. It is planned to be placed in Primorsky district.
‘The projects of 2018-2019 were also once pictures, but we have learned how to transform them into real projects. We put a new meaning and innovative content in each renovation process. We want each district of Mariupol to be unique and attract attention,’ Vadym Boichenko said.
