The investment opportunities of the Donetsk and Lugansk regions have been discussed today at the Startup Development Center "1991 Mariupol". The event was attended by representatives of state, regional, local authorities and entrepreneurs. Mayor Vadym Boichenko spoke about projects that will give a new impetus to the development of the city.

The Mayor noted that today there is competition for key capital - people. Therefore, all projects that are being implemented in the city are focused on the needs of residents and improving their comfort. Investments provide the impetus for innovation.

‘To continue systemic development, the city needs an airport. It will solve logistical problems and improve investment attractiveness. I appreciate you for raising this issue by the head of the regional state administration Pavlo Kyrylenko. It is also important to strengthen the trading capacity of the port. Now, on its basis, an agrarian cluster is emerging. It will contribute to the growth of the economy of the entire region and the creation of new jobs. This requires a full-fledged infrastructure connection. This means a new bypass concrete road. I am grateful to the Office of the President of Ukraine for supporting this initiative,’ Vadym Boichenko stressed.

In addition, there are plans to create a modern university clinic, which, according to the Mayor, will provide quality services to residents of the entire south of the Donetsk region. The next project is the reconstruction of the central embankment, which Volodymyr Zelensky included in the country's 25 tourist magnets. An international competition for the renovation of the coastline has already been announced.

Minister of the Cabinet of Ministers Oleg Nemchinov spoke about the law on state support for investment projects.

‘In addition to state preferences, the document contains a whole block that concerns local preferences, when communities create the most favorable conditions for doing business. Everything that has been done since 2014 suggests that the progress in the region is enormous. The way Mariupol is developing is an example of how to treat the community,’ the Minister said.

In turn, Rostyslav Zamlynsky, First Deputy Minister for Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories, noted that the key goal is the formation of institutional support for business.

‘The Export Promotion Office, Ukrinvest should be close to the regions. We will initiate that Donetsk or Luhansk regions to have a branch of such an institutional support, where an investor can come and receive support from start to finish,’ the first deputy minister said.

After the speeches, the entrepreneurs were able to ask their questions and discuss the further strategy of the state to attract investment and support business.
