Mariupol School No. 52 has taken the second place in the All-Ukrainian project ‘Healthy Schools: for healthy and joyful schoolchildren’ and received a certificate for UAH 90 000. The final of the competition was held in Kiev on the basis of ‘Olympic’ NSC. About 600 schools from the country took part in it.
The goal of the project is to develop a conscious attitude of children to their health. During the year, school-based events were held aimed at developing healthy eating habits and a healthy lifestyle. The guys developed a balanced nutrition menu, even conducted a master class on cooking dietary meals on one of the city’s TV channels.
Besides, within the framework of the project, schoolchildren became winners of the contest ‘Invite an athlete to school’. Then the famous Mariupol strongman Alexander Lashin became the star guest.
At the final stage, the guys talked about the results of the implemented programs in a three-minute presentation. Only forty schools reached the final. Three pupils presented Mariupol community: Valeria Eremenko, Ilya Mikheenko and Aglaya Kuleshova. And the presentation itself was prepared jointly by schoolchildren and teachers.
The director of school № 52 Elena Baranyuk noted the importance of this project in the life of the whole school. ‘The project has united us all. After all, every month, according to the conditions of the competition, it was necessary to submit a report on the events held and, of course, implement them. In this short time, not only schoolchildren but also all of us began to eat healthy food and play sports,’ Elena Baranyuk said.
The received certificate, in the amount of UAH 90 000, is intended by the organizers for the implementation of a unique project - the creation of a STEM laboratory. And in July, representatives of ‘Healthy Schools: for healthy and joyful schoolchildren’ will arrive in Mariupol.
