On April 19, a unique children's diagnostic center based on the Mariupol Territorial Medical Association of Child and Woman Health was launched in Mariupol. Narrow specialists provide the services in 17 areas. About 72 000 of Mariupol children are served. Galina Korovina, Deputy Chief Medical Officer, told about the first 10 days of the center’s work.
From the first day, Mariupol residents actively go for a consultation to narrow specialists.Specialists work in two shifts. For the comfort of residents, the Center is equipped with an electronic patient registration system. This minimizes the time spent in the hospital. Recording is conducted in advance, where everyone can sign up at a convenient time.
Galina Korovina stressed: ‘Planned admission is carried out only if there is a referral from a pediatrician. I ask parents not to miss this important moment. It also applies to the medical examination of future first graders. The pediatrician gives opinions and sends to the right specialists’.
There are bright halls, soft poufs and playing areas in the center. The cabinets are equipped with modern equipment, there is a study of a mother and a child. The facility is equipped with a diagnostic ECG load system, a dermatoscope and a pulse oximeter. The premium radiography system is now in the process of setting up and will soon begin its work.
The center is equipped with isolated boxes for infectious patients with a separately equipped entrance. A cardiologist, a psychologist, an oncologist, a speech therapist and other specialists work for children. According to the results of the visit to the center, today the most sought-after physicians performed statistics: an otolaryngologist, an orthopedic and traumatologist, a surgeon and an ophthalmologist.
It is worth mentioning, the total amount of funding for the reconstruction of the institution amounted to UAH 26.6 million. UAH 10.5 million was allocated from the local budget to repair the premises, Metinvest Group - UAH 1.2 million. For the purchase of equipment, the city allocated about UAH 8 million. The state subvention for these purposes amounted to UAH 6.8 million.
