Today, March 25 is a Day of National Revival of Greece. A revolution took place 200 years ago that changed the course of history. In honor of this holiday, Mariupol hung the flags of the Hellenic Republic.

The flag can be seen at the exit to the city near the monument to Metropolitan Ignatius and near the drama theater. It is located next to the flag of Ukraine, thus symbolizing the support and friendship of Greece.

‘The history of Mariupol is closely interwined with Greece. Due to the Greek steelers, more than 240 years ago, our city received a new impetus for development and revealed its potential. We showed everyone that Mariupol is a strong and multicultural city. The Greek Square, which blossomed in the very heart of Mariupol, has become a symbol of our friendship. Congratulations on the National Revival Day of Greece. You have come a long way to independence and have shown a true spirit of unity.’ Mayor Vadym Boichenko said.
