Prime Minister of Ukraine Vladimir Groysman, together with the Mayor Vadim Boichenko, have checked the work of the filter station at the Starokrymsky production site of the enterprise ‘Water of Donbass’. During the visit, they discussed water supply issues in Mariupol.
Vadim Boichenko said that every year 50 km of pipes are being renewed in Mariupol and 200 km have already been replaced. Unfortunately, due to the deterioration of the networks, the water quality has declined. But due to the agreement between Ukraine and France, the solution to the problem got off the ground. He appreciated Vladimir Groysman for support in this matter.
In turn, the Prime Minister set the task of Mariupol to start the project as quickly as possible.
It is worth noting, the Government of Ukraine and the Government of France signed an agreement to support the project on the supply of drinking water to Mariupol. The document provides for the allocation of France EUR 64 million to support an investment project in the field of drinking water. It is planned to build filtering stations, water intakes and upgrade outdated networks.
