On the 5th of December, the International Volunteer Day, those, who devoted their lives to helping people, were honoured in Mariupol. Ksenia Sukhova, the Deputy Mayor, greeted them with warm words of gratitude and certificates.

Iryna Koska is among the honourees. Active and cheerful, she is always ready to come to help. She has been engaged in volunteering since 2014. Iryna was one of the first who extended the helping hand to the Ukrainian military near Mariupol. She committed, that only that time she got to know her importance and necessity to Ukrainian society. She has a large number of military awards and knows every fighter in person.

For three years she has been collecting all necessary things for defenders of the Motherland: warm things, hygiene products, household appliances and medicines. She says about her achievements with a sense of modesty and reacts with tears in her eyes on the words of gratitude.

“I can’t definitely answer why I’ve decided to become a volunteer. I suppose because of my character. Since childhood I’ve been tried to help people what I could. I am a patriot of my country and I am not afraid to defend its interests”, - Irina Koska noted.

Volunteer activity takes a significant part of her free time. Iryna tries to help not only the Ukrainian army, but also veterans and sick children. Thanks to such Mariupol citizens, there are goodness, mutual respect and assistance to your countrymen in the world. Iryna Koska is an example.
