The opening ceremony of the ‘Warriors who gave their lives for Ukraine’ monument was held in the City Garden today. Representatives of the City Council, the National Guard, the Armed Forces of Ukraine, as well as the clergy of the city attended the solemn event.
The memory of the heroes who fell for the Independence of Ukraine was honored by a minute of silence. In turn, the clerics held a prayer service for the dead soldiers and blessed the monument. Soldiers, representatives of the city's security structures and public organizations laid wreaths and flowers on a memorable sign, paying tribute to the heroes, who died for Ukraine, for peace and quiet on their native land.
Now, Mariupol citizens and guests of the city have the opportunity to honor their heroes, who saved the Will and Freedom for Ukrainians at the expense of their own lives, who made the celebration of the Independence Day today possible.
