In Levoberezhnyi district of the city, the reconstruction of ‘Veselka’ park is coming to an end. The residents of the city will be able to see the updated place in May. The project is implemented at the expense of the city and regional budgets. Besides, over UAH 7 million was allocated by Metinvest Group. The total investment is more than UAH 52 million. The course of work was checked by Mayor Vadim Boichenko.

New designer benches, stage, modern lighting, bright playgrounds for children, a sports area and, most importantly, more than 200 000 flowers – all of these can be found in the renewed park.

‘We have landed 90 names of perennial flowers in the park. The residents can see 4 types of crocuses and more than 32 types of tulips. There is no such thing in any of the city’s parks,’ Vadim Isakov, the head of the improvement department of the city council said.

In addition, the ‘green labyrinth’ of thuja has already appeared in ‘Veselka’. Nearby there  is a bridge of lovers with a fountain and a small waterfall.

A new multi-center and an ice arena will be built near the park. Vadim Boichenko is sure that Levyi Bereg will make it a place of attraction.

‘I want our young people, our children to be inspired by Mariupol. So they can see that our city is developing . This is impossible without new infrastructure. First of all, we want to build a city of opportunities for our children. This park should become a center of attraction for Mariupol residents from all parts of the city to come to Levyi Bereg,’
the Mayor declared.
