The work on the reconstruction of the right side of the pier is being continued. Mariupol residents will be able to walk as a tourist attraction on the City Day. The progress of the work was assessed by Mayor Vadym Boichenko.
The left side of the pier was made last year. Now we have started on the second part. As the deputy mayor Olexander Kochurin said, a railing will be installed on the right side. On the left, it was abandoned to allow access to yacht service. They will also lay the terrace board. The area adjacent to the pier is being transformed into a recreation area with gazebos and green spaces.
The work is carried out by specialists from Metinvest enterprises. According to the acting General Director of the Metinvest-Promservice enterprise Andriy Zhuk, during the reconstruction 300 tons of sustainable concrete were used.
In addition, there are plans to reconstruct the territory with the building of the yacht club and equip a bridge that will connect the two parts of the pier. Deputy Mayor Serhii Zakharov noted that it is being decided whether it will be adjustable or folding. The main thing is that there should be an opportunity for yaсhts to ‘enter’ the bay.
‘Our task is to complete the renovation of the entire pier and the territory of the yacht club. This should become another magnet of attraction for residents of Mariupol and guests of the city. We approach it comprehensively. After all, an international competition has already been announced for the reconstruction of the Central Embankment,’ Vadym Boichenko said.
It is worth noting that the left part of the pier, which is already operating, was also reconstructed with the support of Metinvest Group.
