The celebration on the occasion of the celebration has taken place at the Drama Theater. First Deputy Mayor Mykhailo Kohut presented the best teachers of the lyceum with gratitude from Mayor Vadym Boichenko.
An orchestra played in the Theater Square before the start of the festive event, and students presented dance numbers. After that, the solemn part of the holiday began. Creative bands performed on the stage, remembered key moments from the history of the institution and honored its leaders.
Mykhailo Kohut noted that today education is one of the priority sectors of the city's development. Schools and kindergartens are being renovated, new opportunities are being created for young people. According to him, the city lyceum is an integral part of these changes.
‘The Mariupol city lyceum has already written its name in the history of our city. Today it is difficult to imagine our educational space without this institution. This is the merit of a unique teaching staff that educates talented young people. I am confident that in the future we will continue to change our city for the better,’ the first deputy mayor said.
It should be noted that Mariupol City Lyceum was opened in 1996 as a result of the merger of pedagogical and technical lyceums. In 2002, the institution became a graduate of the regional competition "Golden Scythian" in the nomination "For Achievements in Education" and was included in the top eight educational institutions in the region. In 2019, the city lyceum became a finalist of the National Project "Flagship of Education of Ukraine". Today, more than 400 students study here. There are 43 teachers.
