Mariupol city mayor Vadym Boichenko and representative of Donetsk regional state administration Pavlo Kyrylenko have checked the reconstructed surgical site of Mariupol Territorial Medical Union of the child’s and woman’s health. 100 thousand children of the south of Donetsk region will be able to get help.
“This is a long awaited project. I appreciate Pavlo Kyrylenko for the additional financing, due to which we have been able to finish major repair works. Thousands of children will be able to get European level of help”, the Mayor admitted.
Pavlo Kyrylenko also admitted the importance of the object for Donetsk region. He declared that he holds Mariupol up as an example of the successful development of the medicine to other cities of the region.
The building of the bulk is more than 100 years. It did not respond modern norms and it demanded the repairs before. Now inpatient departments of the surgical profile of the European level have been created here. Children will be provided with planned and urgent care around the clock.
There are four departments in the building: surgical, traumatology, endoscopic and intensive care. They have 96 beds in total.
Overhaul made it possible to create several operating units equipped with the most modern equipment. These are breathing apparatus, modern lamps and tables that can be transformed, air purifiers and sanitizers. There are building houses, an urgent express laboratory and an X-ray room. The object was financed from the city and state budgets. The total amount is more than UAH 138 million.
According to the chief physician Natalia Sidorenko, the reconstruction has opened up new opportunities in the provision of quality services. Thus, previously, endoscopy was located in two rooms. Today it is a full-fledged department, which will provide specialized urgent care. Previously, children had to be sent to Donetsk for treatment.
