While having a working trip to the capital, the Mayor Vadim Boichenko has met with the People's Deputy Oleg Lyashko. The parties discussed the most urgent problems of the city including logistics.

As the Mayor said, today to get  from Mariupol to Kiev and back by train, you have to spend at least 18 hours. In addition, he said that because of the shortage of carriages, there is a shortage of tickets. As a result, people are forced to plan their route for a long time and this is not always possible.

‘People can not comfortably use the rail road links. The situation is no better with the road. The route Zaporozhye - Mariupol is in a terrible condition. To get from one city to another, you have to spend about five hours,’ Vadim Boichenko said.

In his turn, Oleg Lyashko assured that he would take all the necessary measures to restore normal logistics to Mariupol. ‘We will do everything to make repair works of Zaporozhye –Mariupol route to be a part of the budget of the country. We will do everything for Mariupol to have new carriages and rolling stocks on the rail road links by the end of the year’, he said.

The issues of providing housing for internally displaced people were discussed. Vadim Boichenko stressed that the first social hostel has been opened in Mariupol, two more will be opened soon. But at the same time, the mayor noted that about three thousand people are still in dire need of housing. People's Deputy Oleg Lyashko promised that he will help the city to return a building to the communal property that will later become a new home for several dozens of families.
