An emergency medical department will be established on the basis of the city hospital №4. The world experience of division into sectors for different categories of patients will be used there. The total cost of the project is UAH 17.5 million. The course of repairs was inspected by the Mayor Vadym Boichenko.

The creation of a modern branch is carried out within the framework of the national project "Big Construction". For these purposes, UAH 10 million have been allocated from the local budget, and UAH 7 million from the state budget.

‘Our doctors have "magic touch". Every day they save the lives of Mariupol residents. They do not always have modern working conditions. Our task is to create such conditions. Repairing an emergency department is a comprehensive solution that gives a sense of security. Everyone should be sure - he will always promptly receive the necessary medical care,’
Vadym Boichenko stressed.

The repair works are carried out on the ground floor of the surgical building. Previously, the reception office was located here.

‘We had several doctor's offices. The conditions did not meet modern requirements. After the repair, offices will appear for almost all specialists. The department will include both reception and emergency functions,’ Volodymyr Zhigil, the hospital's director said.

The department will be filled with the necessary modern equipment for quality examination of patients. They will install X-ray equipment, an ultrasound machine and create a laboratory. The main feature will be the separation of patient routes.

‘We will apply the global experience of dividing the ward into sectors for different categories of patients. Patients requiring resuscitation will be delivered to the "red" sector. "Yellow" will take patients of moderate severity. "Green" is intended for patients who came to the hospital on their own. For this purpose separate entrances are provided’,  the deputy mayor Ksenia Sukhova explained.

There will also be a box for two ambulances. Conditions for people with disabilities are taken into account.

To date, dismantling work has been carried out. Soon all engineering networks will be replaced and the fire extinguishing system will be restored. The room will be completely modernized, elevators will be replaced  and an oxygen pipeline will be installed.
