Presentation of Mariupol Development Strategy until 2030 is taking place today. It is based on the creation of new opportunities. The best Ukrainian and international experts have been working on the document for 1.5 years. Mayor Vadym Boichenko told about it.
“In 2017, for the first time in the history of the city, we adopted the Development Strategy - 2021. Today it is 90% fulfilled. The main success that we have managed to achieve is that young people see their future in their hometown. 89% of young residents answered that they are proud of Mariupol, ” the mayor said.
Now, according to the mayor, it is necessary to continue the development of the city and preserve the potential that exists. The focus of the new document is on new opportunities.
“Strategy 2030 is a vision of our future. It is applied and should lay the foundation for future development. It is based on three main components - activators of economic development, municipal services and the comfort and quality of life of the population. It is a great challenge for all of us to meet these objectives. However, I believe that together we will build a city by the sea with an ocean of opportunities, ” Vadym Boichenko said.
The Mayor expressed his gratitude to partners, in particular USAID, and specialists in various industries, who helped to study the best experience of European countries and the United States, to adapt it to our city. The mayor also appreciated the active Mariupol residents who joined the development of an important document.
In total, the 2030 Strategy includes 14 directions. The main ones are:
• "Green" sustainable development;
• Future by the sea;
• Transformation of the economy;
• Active youth;
• Education and innovation;
• The latest approaches to city design;
• Creation of elevators in the sectors of education, medicine and IT.
