The President of Parliamentary Assembley of NATO Rasa Jukneviciene and the Head of Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Andrey Parubiy have visited Mariupol. During the journey they checked the work of ‘Gnutovo’ check-point and answered the journalists’ questions.
Communicating with the representatives of mass media, Andrey Parubiy appreciated Rasa Jukneviciene for the visit and support of the Ukrainians. He emphasized that The President of Parliamentary Assembley realizes the importance of the struggle for European countries that Ukraine is holding. He admitted that our country has a clear plan – the integration to the European Union.
‘The fellows who are on the frontline, protect not just Ukraine but the whole world. Ukraine pursues a clear path of integration to the European Union. The membership of Ukraine in NATO is one of the strategic tasks of our state. And it is not occasionally that Verkhovna Rada has accepted important changes into the Law about the basis of internal and external politics that foresees NATO to be in priority”, The Head of Verkhovna Rada said.
In her turn, Rasa Jukneviciene admitted that it is her first visit to the East of Ukraine. She also emphasized the importance of reform realization and European way of the development of Ukraine.
‘Ukrainian army protects not just Ukraine but the whole Ukraine. We feel it being in Lithuania. The question concerning Ukraine is treated at high level in the Assembley. There are many discussions, reports and declarations’, the President of Paliamentary Assembley of NATO said.
Rasa Jukneviciene admitted the work of the representatives of Parliamentary Assembley of NATO in Ukraine: ‘They have reached the moment to lead a session of the Assembley in Kiev in 2020 where all the members of parliament of all the states will come’.
