The first of 72 trolleybuses has been delivered to Mariupol as part of a joint project of Mariupol City Council and European Bank for Reconstruction and Development. The new transport has been checked by Mayor Vadym Boichenko.
The first batch, which will arrive in our city, is 12 units. This will complement existing routes and create new ones. It is planned to bring trolleybuses before the end of March. Thus, the residents will be able to get a comfortable municipal service.
The trolleybus is equipped with an air conditioning system, passenger flow sensors and video surveillance cameras are installed. The cabin is equipped with comfortable seats made in Poland.
According to the director of the Department of Transport and Communications Vasyl Klat, the first batch of trolleybuses will be divided into three routes. First of all, it is planned to create a new route No. 17. Other trolleybuses will be divided between the existing ones - No. 2 and 12.
According to the delivery schedule, 72 units of trolleybuses will be delivered in Mariupol before the end of the third quarter of 2020. Thus, the MTTD fleet will consist of 100 units of buses, 94 units of trolley buses and 69 units of trams.
