In Mariupol, ‘Tidy City’ project is underway, within the framework of which new jobs have been created at utilities. It is created to support those citizens who have partially or completely lost jobs due to quarantine. Mayor Vadym Boichenko talked with new employees.

A guard rail is established from Pobedy Avenue to Ukrainian Cossacks Str. Director of Mariupolavtodor Dmitry Chuchmay explained that the goal is to protect residents, especially children. The work is carried out by the employees of Mariupolavtodor, who settled down due to the project.

‘The Neat City project is dictated by time. Our task is to support people who have lost their jobs in this difficult period. The project created 390 jobs. But we saw that more than a thousand people applied for vacancies. Then we restructured other projects. As a result, the total number of jobs is more than 700,’
Vadym Boichenko stressed.

Besides, along 130th Taganrog Division Str., paving slabs of tiles are laid under ‘Tidy City’ program. 8 people were involved.

Alexander Yevdokimov is among the first Mariupol residents who were employed by the program at Mariupolavtodor. In March, a man was left without work. ‘The offer interested me because it was profitable. They offered a decent salary. In addition, work at a utility company means stability and social guarantees’.

The railings are being painted on the bridge over the Kalchik River along Metallurgov Ave. According to Dmitry Chuchmay, there are 32 artificial structures on the balance sheet of the utility company. This is more than 50 thousand meters.

‘With the state that we had to cover everything was impossible. Now, due to the program, we have employees who paint and clean the railings,’ the director of PU ‘Mariupolavtodor’ explained.

In addition to Avtodor, due to ‘Tidy City’, Mariupol residents are employed in PU ‘Zelenstroy’. The head of the enterprise Piotr Checker introduced the Mayor with new equipment and grass mowing along Karpinsky Street.

‘We annually purchase new equipment. We buy attachments that work all year. Last year, we purchased two LOCUST. Ferrari was purchased for mowing. In the autumn-spring period, a brush is used as a cultivator. There is also a mulcher,’ Piotr Checker said.

Vadym Boichenko emphasized that the main task is to minimize manual labor. For this, the amount of equipment is increasing.

‘First of all, it facilitates the work of employees. In addition, it makes it possible to carry out work more efficiently and in a larger volume,’
the Mayor noted.
