Our task is to provide honest and transparent elections in Mariupol: Vadym Boichenko

The events on preparation to the local elections on October 25 are finishing in Mariupol. All the polling stations are ready, epidemiological responses will be provided, law enforcement agencies will work under heavy security. It was said on the conference devoted to the organization of elections in Mariupol chaired by city mayor Vadym Boichenko.

“Our task is to provide honest and transparent elections in Mariupol. Election process must be held within the framework of legislation currently of Ukraine without violations and fraud. We must do everything to protect every vote”, Vadym Boichenko said.

The Mayor called all political parties to act within the law and reminded that it requires criminal liability. The head of the central office of the National Police in the Donetsk region Serhiy Bychin admitted that 473 representatives of the police, 90 patrols and 27 mobile patrols will be attracted to provide the order. The reserve to react on possible illegal situations is required. Additionally, there will be 55 representatives of the patrol police and 10 mobile patrols to provide public security.

According to the head of the division of the State service of emergency field Andriy Pavlenko, the officers of the state service of emergency field will check all the polling stations. Mariupol servicemen and policemen will be transferred to an enhanced version of service - 119 employees will be on duty around the clock.

First Deputy Mayor Mykhaylo Kohut emphasized that regional administrations and utilities are working to provide logistics routes to all sites. Deputy Mayor Serhiy Zakharov noted that the transport will work as usual.

All areas will be treated with the disinfectant. At the entrance to the sites there will be bactericidal carpets and contactless sanitizers. In case a person has forgotten the mask, they will be given it at the entrance. The voters will have their temperature checked. Each will be given disposable gloves.

To ensure the expression of the will of people who are on self-isolation, special mobile polling stations have been created, which will "come" to their homes.

“Every resident of Mariupol has a democratic right to expression of will. We must work together to protect it. This is the main task for each direction”, Vadym Boichenko stressed.
