Today, in Mariupol, the first citywide work party ‘Our city is our home’ has taken place this year. More than 11 thousand people took part in cleaning process.
Among them there were employees of the city council, district administrations and public utilities. Thus, the representatives of structural divisions of the executive committee together with employees of Levoberezhnyi district administration cleaned the territory of the public garden located in the area of the City Palace of Culture.
Being in a good mood, all the participants cleared the green area of garbage and last year's foliage. Deputy mayor Sergei Zakharov tidied up together with everyone.
‘Work party is a great opportunity to get together and bring cleanliness in Mariupol - in our house. Moreover, today the weather is good that makes our mood quite positive,’ Sergey Zakharov said.
The deputies of the city council together with the self-organizing committees of the population and residents of condominiums took part in the work party.
Following the results of the work party, 58 000 square meters of parks and squares were cleared as well as 226 000 square meters of streets and house territories. 39 unauthorized landfills were eliminated. For these purposes, more than 20 units of specialized equipment were involved.
