We will care about peace to come as soon as possible: The Federal Minister for Foreign Affairs of Germany Heiko Maas

During the visit to the Donetsk region, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Pavel Klimkin and the Federal Minister for Foreign Affairs of Germany Heiko Maas have visited the line of demarcation and have met with the residents of  Berdyanskoye village. In conclusion, they talked with journalists and shared their personal impressions.

During the working visit, the honorary guests together with the head of the regional civil administration Pavel Zhebrivskiy and the secretary of the Mariupol city council Stepan Makhsma talked with the residents of Berdyanskoye village and visited the line of delineation.

Pavel Klimkin stressed that he was very grateful to Heiko Maas for his visit to the Donetsk region before the meeting in Berlin on June 11. ‘Impressions are no less important than political discussions and political negotiations. He goes to Berlin with a special personal emotion. I am very grateful to him. This is his first visit to Ukraine and the first visit we were able to go here,’- the Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine said.

The Federal Minister for Foreign Affairs of Germany spoke about his impressions. ‘People live in very cramped conditions. There is no electricity, no transport and insufficient fuel supply. But they all ask when the world comes because it is all connected with the war. We will take care about peace to come as soon as possible. We will try to discuss it within the framework of the Norman format with the representatives of Ukraine, Russia, France and Germany on June 11,’ Heiko Maas stressed.
