Deputies have discussed the activity of the ‘Mariupol Heating Network’public utility company at the session of the City Council today. The head of the company told about key achievements of the current year, further strategic development plans and also about the way that company has overcome to start the heating season 2017/2018.
Several heat points were reconstructed and equipment that is regulated automatically was installed this year. 40 km of pipeline were replaced and 1752 buildings will be equipped with heat meters by the end of the year. The company managed to ensure uninterrupted operation, stable and high-quality supply of heat to consumers and reduce energy consumption. The employees have changed their attitude to work. They are motivated by the growth of the average wage, which will increase up to 8100 UAH in 2018.
Reporting on the activities of the ‘Heating Network’, Dmytro Miroshnychenko, the head of the company, noted the high paying capacity of the population and dwelt in detail on the debt of the company. In 2017, thanks to the financial support of the City Council, the level of payables of the company decreased by 104 million UAH. The mobilization of all forces and funds allowed forming a positive dynamics in the repayment of consumer debts. The level of payment for services by the population amounted to 135% this year.
“Naftogaz NJSC accepted the offer of the city and made a write-off of fines and penalty taxes in the amount of more than 77 million UAH. Additional allocation of funds from the city budget for payment of consumed gas allowed entering the heating season on legal grounds with gas nominations. The City Council as a whole got involved for the further implementation of the debt restructuring program”, - Dmytro Miroshnychenko said.
According to him, Mariupol created a precedent in Ukraine, winning all lawsuits with Naftogaz on the reduction of debt amortization period. Thus, Mariupol has become the only city whose debt, formed before the 1st of June 2016, will be restructured.
“Our key achievement is that we started the heating season legally, getting nominations for gas. We restructured the debt and did not create a new one. It was a hard work”, - Vadym Boichenko, the Mayor, said.
‘Heating network’ will continue its move in the direction for development: a long-term strategy for the development of the company will be created, energy efficiency projects are planned to be implemented and leading suppliers of equipment in this sector will be involved.
