At the session of the Mariupol City Council, the deputies have approved the changes in the city target program "Mariupol takes care of you." Its key task is to improve the well-being of the population in order to bring the standard of living closer to European standards.
“The main change is budget approval. This is done annually in order to improve the services provided by “Mariupol Takes Care of You” program. The changes have been made in accordance with the Program of Economic and Social Development of Mariupol City Territorial Community for 2021,” Irina Korobka, Director of the Department of Social Protection of the Population said.
The focus of "Mariupol takes care of you" is a person. Namely: support for families at the stage of early detection of difficult life circumstances. Providing tools to help you become capable and independently resolve difficult issues that arise.
Improving the efficiency of the social assistance system of Mariupol urban territorial community takes place in several stages:
• provision of social protection and social support for ATO and / or JFO participants and their families, persons displaced from the temporarily occupied territory of Ukraine or an area of active hostilities;
• creation and development of services for vulnerable groups of the population;
• provision of benefits, monetary and other support;
• assistance in meeting the social needs of families, children and youth in difficult life circumstances, preventing violence and gender discrimination;
• improvement of the situation and social adaptation of people with disabilities;
• socialization of elderly Mariupol residents;
• fulfillment of the terms of contracts for life support of single citizens;
• decrease in the number of residents of Mariupol territorial community, who need outside support, prevention of human trafficking;
• programs of social services of Social Service Centers for families, children and youth (adult education, skills development for children, mediation, psychosocial support, etc.);
• repair and reconstruction of social institutions.
