Representatives of the municipal brass band came at the reception of Vadym Boichenko, the Mayor. They came to receive answers to their exciting questions about the future creation of the ‘Chamber Philharmonic’.

We recall you that deputies supported the establishment of the ‘Chamber Philharmonic’ public institution in Mariupol at the last session of the City Council.  It will be created through reorganization of the ‘Renaissance’ municipal chamber orchestra of Mariupol, Mariupol municipal brass band and Mariupol Municipal Orchestra of Folk Instruments public institutions. ‘Chamber Philharmonic’ is designed to unite the above-mentioned orchestras, as a result of which they will have their own repertoire, with which residents and guests of Mariupol will be able to get acquainted.

During the meeting, they discussed the establishment of the public institution, explaining the principles of further activities of the Chamber Philharmonic. They were answered a number of questions - regarding the level of wages, staffing plan, self-sustainability, congestion, funding, further development in the Philharmonic Society and what its future leader should be.

“There is no chamber philharmonic on the territory of the Donetsk Oblast under the control of Ukraine”, - Oleksandr Kochurin, the Deputy Mayor, said. - In addition to the cultural richness, the Philharmonic project also aims to unload the local budget for the maintenance of orchestras”.

Vadym Boichenko agreed with his words. Allocated funds for the development of orchestras should be used as effectively as possible.

“Any public utility company can be effective with good investment and management”, - the Mayor said. As an example, he provided the Komunalnik public utility company, which for a short period of time was able to turn into a self-supporting enterprise with its own income.

I am up for you to have a home - a philharmonic, a repertoire, a poster, an advertisement, a tour, so that you have a good salary and instruments, and the youth that would stay in our orchestras. But you also need to make an effort to do this
said Vadym Boichenko

The Mayor supports the creation of a united cultural center, where people can use their leisure time.

“The task is to develop you! Future Philharmonic must adopt the best experience of Ukraine!”, - Vadym Boichenko concluded.
