For the first time, the Street Music Festival will be held in Mariupol. The project is implemented within the framework of the mini-grants program of the ‘Public Budget’. Pre-registration has already been opened on the official Facebook page of the festival.

May 19, the festivals will be held simultaneously in 50 cities of Ukraine and in Mariupol. Street Music Day is an international movement, organized in 2007 by a freelance musician from Lithuania. In 2014, a volunteer project came to Ukraine. In Mariupol it will be held on the basis of the city water-sports complex.

According to the organizer of the project, Olga Bliznyuk, the main goal is to create a relaxed atmosphere for communication. Virtuoso musicians, amateurs and even six-year-old pupils of the art school will perform.

‘I have learnt about the project at the Creative Industries Forum in Dnipro. I was immediately inspired by the idea of holding it in a native and beloved city. And now, due to the victory in the mini-grants competition of the ’Public Budget’, I have the opportunity to do it. On this day, people in different parts of Ukraine will go to the streets to enjoy live music. I am glad that Mariupol will be able to join this event,’ Olga Bliznyuk says.

It is worth noting that this year 18 projects have been implemented with the support of the ’Public Budget’ in the direction of culture and sports.
