Mariupol has held an open championship of karate and para karate. During the ceremonial part, 153 sheets of special tattoos were handed over to the athletes. They were acquired through the funds of the program of small grants of the ‘Public Budget’.
‘Today, such a sport as karate has begun to develop actively. Many Mariupol children represent their hometown and Ukraine at world championships. But their technical support needs to be updated. Therefore, this project is aimed at increasing comfort during training, especially for children with disabilities’, the author of ‘I Can Do It!’ project, the president of the regional association of martial arts and sports" RAMAS "Oleg Shukhman said.
According to the results of the para-karate championship, the team of the sports club "Kempo" took the first place. "Silver" was given to the children of "Sunny" team and "bronze" was taken by the "Seiken" team.
It should be noted that in 2019 the Mariupol city council appointed special scholarships for 30 athletes, where 10 of them were with some disabilities. All of them showed high results during last year, representing Mariupol in prestigious competitions.
