Today, for the first time in Mariupol, the Street Music Day festival has been held. Similar events were held in 55 cities of Ukraine. Simultaneously with all the work of street musicians, Mariupol residents enjoyed it. It became possible to implement this project in our city due to the ‘Public Budget’ mini-grants program.
The musicians are amateurs and professionals. Solo performers, musical groups and creative groups performed on the basis of the city's water sports complex. The proximity of the sea gave the event a special atmosphere.
‘The main goal of the project is to create a place for easy communication. To unite the theme of music to strangers,’ project initiator Olga Bliznyuk said.
Everyone who came could find something interesting for himself. Festival participants were not limited to certain genres. Therefore, from early morning until late evening on the seashore one could hear cello, piano, classical, folk motifs, rock, rap and pop.
‘Free microphone’ worked as well. Approaching it, every interested musician could share his work and get a few minutes of glory. The audience supported the speakers with applause.
In addition to music, Mariupol residents and city guests were invited to take part in dance master classes and entertainment competitions.
