Affordable and high-quality medicine is continued to be created in Mariupol. An important step in this direction is the overhaul of the city's outpatient clinics. Thus, last year the outpatient clinics of the primary health care center No.1 were renewed. They serve about 38 000 residents of Mariupol, 5 000 of them are children. The level of comfort of the medical facility was assessed by Mayor Vadym Boichenko.
Residents of Kalmiusky district receive European medical service in comfortable conditions and within walking distance. They are greeted by a modern reception desk, equipped reception rooms and offices. Conditions have been created for people with disabilities – a separate entrance and a bathroom. Besides, mobile teams work on the basis of the primary health care center. Their mask is to quickly identify those infected with the coronavirus and provide the necessary assistance to patients with COVID-19 who are on outpatient treatment.
‘We are reaching the European level of medical services delivery together. The city created all conditions for patients, doctors and attracting new personnel. The prestige of the profession, wages and salaries increase and comfortable working and treatment conditions are created. In addition, a top-level medical center with a student campus will be created in Mariupol. High quality of education will become a priority for Mariupol citizens when choosing a university and will be able to attract young people from other cities,’ Vadym Boichenko said.
To date, two future doctors are undergoing internship at the Primary Healthcare Center No. 11 more interns are expected to come in the new academic year.
In total, there are 5 Primary Health Care Centers and 40 outpatient clinics in Mariupol. The development of medicine is taking place according to the philosophy of ‘Trilateral responsibility’ between the city, the doctor and the patient. Thus, the municipality undertakes to provide the material and technical base, repair premises, equipped with the necessary medical equipment. The doctor undertakes to provide quality medical service. The patient undertakes to monitor their health, conclude a declaration with a doctor and undergo scheduled examinations.
