The Department of Education of Mariupol City Council develops and implements strategies for the development of inclusive education in the city. The work is carried out in accordance with the concept of the formation of the New Ukrainian School with Donetsk Regional Institute of Postgraduate Pedagogical Education.

Within the framework of the concept, the directors of the inclusive-resource centers of the city regularly attend regional advanced training sessions. Thus, last week the training took place in Kramatorsk. The participants studied the ways of interaction between the specialists of the inclusive-resource centers and employees of educational institutions. Subject outlined the main objectives of the centers.

According to the director of the inclusive-resource center, Marina Kaplina, such trainings provide confidence and methodological experience in terms of developing such an important direction today. ‘Since the foundation of our center, we regularly undergo advanced training courses. Our task is to choose the most comfortable conditions for children with special educational needs. And we are actively working to improve the methods in this area,’ Marina Kaplina said.

It is worth noting that inclusive resource centers has begun their work in Mariupol since last autumn. Their task is to provide full support in the adaptation of a child with a disability at the ordinary school.
