The "Forum of Unity" has begun in Mariupol. It focuses on the institutionalization of the dialogue between society and government. The event was opened by the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky.

‘The purpose of this forum is to search for answers to the most complex, painful and uncomfortable questions that each of us face’,

Volodymyr Zelensky began his speech.

In the welcoming speech, the President dwelt in detail on the main priorities of the state. They are the information and humanitarian policy regarding Donbas and Crimea.

‘An effective humanitarian policy is the task, first of all, of the state, but an information policy is our common challenge and our common responsibility. It is the responsibility of authorities, the media and each user of social networks’,

the President emphasized.

He also spoke about four components of the Reintegration Strategy. This is transparency and publicity, consensus, realism and implementation.

‘Unity is the main topic of this forum. Now it is vital. I am sure that today not only language and our historical past are a strong foundation for national unity. Values should be the unifying factor for building a new, strong Ukraine. Values that will unite us for a common future. The values of freedom, democracy, civil society and the rule of law’,

The President of Ukraine concluded his speech.

The panel discussions have to be attended by Minister of Infrastructure Vladislav Krikliy, Minister of Education and Science Anna Novosad, Minister of Affairs for Veterans, Temporarily Occupied Territories and Internally Displaced Persons Oksana Koliada, Minister of Culture, Youth and Sports Vladimir Borodyansky, director Oleg Sentsov, journalists and experts.
