After a major overhaul the infectious disease unit at 4 City Hospital has a chance to become the country's best medical institution. The city mayor Vadim Boichenko is sure in it. The total cost of the project is more than UAH 18 million. The unit is planned to be opened by the Children's Day.

Small patients will be met by bright walls with a bright design. During the working visit the mayor was convinced of the quality of the work performed. According to him, the infectious disease unit is an example of the way a modern hospital for children should look like.

‘The best medical unit in Ukraine will be opened in Mariupol. This will be the best health facility in the city. The main task is to treat child's infection. I want all the conditions to be created in this unit to ensure that every child's life is wrapped up in our attention and professional experience. There will be all modern conditions, individual boxes, resuscitation and necessary equipment that will help in an emergency situation to save our children's life and restore health here’
Vadim Boichenko stressed.

The contractor took a creative approach to major works. During the repair works, he searched for materials and options to do the job well. Even the hospital walls should contribute to speed up the recovery of children. This was noticed by the mayor and he appreciated the contractor for his conscientious approach to work.

‘I want such kind of contractors to work at all Mariupol facilities today. So that we could be prompted and we could adjust the project together and find constructive solutions,’ the mayor said.

By the way, this project is realized thanks to the synergy of the city government and business. For example, major repairs are carried out at the expense of the Azovstal Iron and Steel Works and the city government fills the unit with furniture, equipment and professional doctors.

At the same time the overhaul of ‘Primary Children’s Health Care Center No. 3’ has been started in Mariupol. At the moment 80% of the window blocks have been replaced, the building is insulated, the floors are installed, the roof is repaired etc. Interior maintenance is also planned.

Vadim Boichenko said that the walls in the building should be bright and light. This facility should be no worse than the infectious disease unit in the Left Bank district.

‘We are actually doing a children's diagnostic center here. There are not such kind of centers in Mariupol and there have never been. The main thing is you will be able to get an accurate diagnosis. We are creating all the conditions for this and buy an appropriate equipment. The priority for us is children and care of them,’
the mayor stressed.
