A large-scale reconstruction of the building of the former ‘Soyuz’ cinema has been started in 2017. The place was abandoned for a long time after the fire. Now there are almost 500 administrative, public utility, social and pension services and there is a registry office in “Multicenter” social office. 250,000 residents of Mariupol have already received the necessary services here.
This is the largest social office in Ukraine, which has become a symbol of transparency, accessibility and openness to people. It can receive up to 1200 visitors daily. The highlight of the project is an observation deck on the roof with a seating area. Bold design solutions have become a model of modernization for the whole of Europe. Multicenter received the title of winner at the international architectural competition “European Award” last year. It is important that the historical values, the mosaic and the fountain in the square at the entrance, were preserved.
‘We really wanted all 475 services to be available to every resident of Mariupol, so we made Multicenter barrier-free. It has become a magnet of achievements on the map of our country. The opening ceremony in 2019 was attended by the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy,’ Mykhailo Ivchenko, Deputy Mayor said.
