It helps schools get key elements of comfort. One of the programs “4 activities” – “Hygiene at schools”. This is an update in educational institutions of bathrooms. Mayor Vadym Boichenko checked its implementation at school №48.
The Principle, Lilia Borysenko says that this year 12 toilets on the first and second floors were reconstructed, new plumbing and doors were installed, the utilities were upgraded. In addition, a separate bathroom for children with disabilities was made.
Prior to that, according to the Principal, the windows at school were changed. This allows the institution to be more energy efficient, and children study in a comfortable environment in the winter.
Vadym Boichenko was also shown elementary school classrooms equipped within the requirements of the New Ukrainian School. The classrooms have modern desks that are adjustable according to the student's height, cabinets, a play area and multimedia equipment.
‘The new approach to learning is focused on the development of modern student competencies. In terms of infrastructure, these are single desks that help children to take responsibility for their own space. They can be grouped together. It socializes them and teaches them to communicate,’ Deputy Mayor Olexandr Kochurin said.
Vadym Boichenko stressed that schools should receive the necessary elements for comfortable teaching and learning with major reconstructions. After all, this is an investment in the future.
‘Parents set us a task - to make children's education comfortable. We adopted the "4 activities" program. Educational institutions receive replacement of windows, repair of bathrooms, constructions and arrangement of modern sports grounds. Today we see the result - 50% of schools have received key elements of comfort. Our goal is to cover all schools in the city by 2025,’ the Mayor of Mariupol stressed.
