On the Day of Local Self-Government, Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Dmitry Razumkov presented the honorary distinction of the Ukrainian Parliament to the representatives of the municipality. Among the awarded are Mayor of Mariupol Vadym Boichenko.
‘The life of the citizens depends on you. It is important that we both understand this well. We, as the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, as People's Deputies of Ukraine, representatives and chairmen of committees, are ready to assist you in this direction. We are facing a very big challenge this year and next, which is the end of decentralization. Only together can we make these high quality changes quickly. They will be able to give a fresh start and new opportunities to people living in cities and villages,’ Dmitry Razumkov noted.
During the solemn event, Vadym Boichenko was presented with an honorary diploma of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine for his considerable personal contribution to the socio-economic and cultural development of the territorial community, high professionalism and conscientious work. This is the highest award of the Ukrainian Parliament. According to the Mayor of Mariupol, it is the result of team work of the whole municipality.
‘This is a high appreciation of the work of the entire municipality of Mariupol. We managed to reboot the city in four years, to make it modern and interesting. In Mariupol, we are implementing large-scale projects, implementing IT services and creating new opportunities for people. Mariupol can replicate its positive "effect" on other cities of the country. I believe that Ukraine's future lies in the development of cities,’ Vadym Boichenko emphasized.
