Today the large-scale forum "Dialogue"Veteran - community "takes place in Mariupol. It is a platform for constructive conversation between veterans and local governments. Mayors of Lviv, Zhytomyr, Khmelnytsky, Nikolaev and veterans of the anti-terrorist operation / environmental protection are among them. Mayor of Mariupol Vadym Boichenko congratulated the audience.
The Mayor appreciated the military, which liberated the city in 2014. According to him, Mariupol got a chance for development due to this.
‘We know what the tragedy of war is, what the lines of contact are. Our city has been repeatedly shelled. That is why we are developing so rapidly. After all, we believe that the invisible wall between us and the occupied territories will fall. And our weapon is development. I am sure that both the day of the liberation of Donetsk and the day of the liberation of Luhansk will still be red letter days in our calendar, and the day of our unification in a united Ukraine. We believe that victory will be ours and peace will come,’ Vadym Boichenko stressed.
Regional panels will take place during the event. They will consider issues of how to preserve the veteran business, the features of veteran spaces, as a tool for social and psychological adaptation. Housing programs and medical guarantees will be discussed.
At the end of the forum, the Crimson Cross award will be presented for the first time. It will be presented to doctors, volunteers, community organizations and others involved in the veteran community. The award was developed jointly with the Institute of National Remembrance, and made for means of association of veterans-businessmen.
