The Mayor Vadim Boichenko has met with Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Hellenic Republic in Ukraine Georgios Pukamissas. They discussed the possibility of the further cooperation and main directions of the city development.
Georgios Pukamissas admitted that Mariupol is changing very quickly.
‘I am glad that there is trust to Mariupol. European partners are ready to invest in your city. And they do it because there are people they have to cooperate with’, the Ambassador of Greece admitted.
In the interaction, Georgios Pukamissas paid attention to the questions of water supply and logistics. According to him, external transport interchange should be improved together with the changes in the city.
The Mayor admitted that the issues of improvements of the transport link with Mariupol and the quality of the roads have been raised at the highest levels.
‘We have seen the line in the budget concerning the repairs of Mariupol-Zaporozhye route. And it is UAH 1 bln but the sum should be increased’, the Mayor admitted.
He told about the difficulties connected with railway connection focusing on the modernization of the railroad. Mariupol asks to renovate the carriages, to shorten the time of journey to Kiev and to make the time of arrival comfortable.
The Ambassador of Greece appreciated the Mayor Vadim Boichenko for a meaningful dialogue in the end of the meeting and said that Mariupol can rely on his support and help.
