The educational institution, which educates law enforcement officers both all over the Donbas and the whole country, is celebrating its 60th anniversary today. An international scientific-practical conference Donetsk Law Institute of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine: time-tested educational traditions were held for the anniversary. The event also announced the renaming of the university to Donetsk State University of Internal Affairs.
Deputy Mayor Arkady Meshkov arrived for the anniversary. ‘I sincerely congratulate the staff of Donetsk Law Institute and now the university and all students on the 60th anniversary of your famous university. The development of education is a priority in building a development strategy for our city. It is higher education institutions that are the indicators that contribute to the development of Mariupol as a modern, European, young city on the shores of the Sea of Azov. You are the main higher education institution that educates future law enforcement officers for the entire Donetsk region. Mariupol municipality will always be a reliable partner and friend in building your ambitious plans. I am sure that your university has a great future,’ Arkady Meshkov said.
Besides, he presented a memorable gift to the president of the university Serhiy Vitvitsky on behalf of the mayor and the whole society. The head of the university appreciated the city authorities for their continued support.
