Mayor Vadim Boichenko and the chairman of the Donetsk Regional State Administration Pavel Kirilenko have performed their speeches at a gala concert dedicated to the celebration of the City Day. They congratulated Mariupol on its day. During the concert, the Mayor presented the mayor’s honor ‘For Merit to the City’ and awarded Mariupol athlete with the title of Honorary Citizen.
The Mayor also expressed his gratitude to people who are implementing new projects in the city and are making every effort to ensure that Mariupol flourishes. Mariupol doctors, athletes, architects, teachers and librarians were awarded with honorary distinctions of the Mayor ‘For Merits to the City’. An important event was the awarding of the title ‘Honorary Citizen of the City of Mariupol’ to Honored Master of Sports of Ukraine Igor Yarmonov. Mariupol resident made high achievements in sports, popularizing chess art and strengthening the positive image of the city.
At the end, the Mayor announced three priority projects for Mariupol residents. According to the results of the popular vote in the Theater Square, they were: an aquapark, a beach reconstruction in the village of Peschaniy and a renewed Gurov park. And, of course, there was a traditional selfie with thousands of Mariupol residents from the main stage of the city.
Pavel Kirilenko noted the positive dynamics in the development of the city’s infrastructure over the past five years: ‘It's nice to watch how the city develops. Infrastructure facilities, schools, hospitals and kindergartens are being restored. We’ll make every effort to realize all the city’s goals,’ Pavel Kirilenko said.
Before the evening concert began, the chairman of the Donetsk Regional State Administration looked at the main locations of the holiday. He visited the book festival, got acquainted with the projects of future reconstructions and talked with the residents of the city.
