On the basis of the ambulance hospital in Mariupol, the cardiosurgery department is being reconstructed. The head of the Donetsk regional state administration Pavel Zhebrivskiy has come to see the repair works. The city mayor Vadim Boichenko said that the implementation of this project will give new opportunities for Mariupol. They will carry out heart surgery here that has never been done before in the city.
The total investment for two years will have been more than UAH 66 million. A major overhaul of the whole department is under way. There will be a new operating room with angiograph and surgical operating room this year. The room is going to be equipped for diagnostics on a
photoroentgenograph. There will be two intensive care units with European-level equipment. In addition to intensive care, there will be 9 modern rooms with new functional furniture, bathrooms and a canteen.
In 2018, the budget of Mariupol is expected to receive income from the European Investment Bank. The cardiosurgical department will be completely repaired on the second floor of Mariupol hospital with the replacement of all engineering networks for these funds. This object is also included in the program of the State Fund for Regional Development for 2018-2019.
‘When we finish the repair works of a regional hospital, children’s hospital, a cardiography, a blood transfusion station, an oncological dispensary, children’s department of infectious decease, we will significantly improve medicine,’ Pavel Zhebrivskiy emphasized.
