Historical heritage is saved in Mariupol. It is made in a modern and creative way at the same time. The Theater Square will be transformed by the Day of the City - there will be new recreation areas, memorable places and a light fountain. The project cost is more than UAH 78 million.
About UAH 54 million were allocated from the city budget for the reconstruction of the Theater Square, Mariupol Development Fund invested more than 24 million UAH in the project. The process of reconstruction was checked by the Mayor Vadim Boichenko. According to the contractor, all work is on schedule. Issues are resolved promptly.
A fountain has already been dismantled in the park at the moment. There will be a new flat illuminated and musical fountain instead.
Furthermore, a new toilet is being built on the territory with accessibility elements for people with disabilities. In addition, it will have a mother and a child room. All engineering networks are replaced into the park, there will be new pedestrian paths and a system of watering green spaces will be installed. Also there is a plan to reconstruct a parking lot, to plant new plants, to create an art space and play area for children.
The issue of reconstruction is suitable for complex and preserves the historical heritage. So, near the theater the foundation of the church of Virgin Mary was found. The church was destroyed and a Drama Theater was built nearby.
