A delegation from Slovakia has visited the Donetsk National Medical University. They talked with the President of the university Pyotr Kondratenko. They discussed the possibilities of increasing a number of specialties and university students together with the city council secretary Stepan Makhsma, deputy mayors Alexander Kochurin and Sergey Orlov.

Donetsk National Medical University was opened in Mariupol in November 2016 at 80 Shevchenko Blvd. Now another academic building is being built next to the academic and administrative building. The hostel of a medical university is located at 54 Stroiteley Avenue. It is built for 350 people. The total investment in the acquisition and equipping of buildings is about UAH 42 million.

At the moment, 209 students in Mariupol are trained in two specialties - medicine and dentistry. Half of them (more than 90 people) are foreign students.

As Pyotr Kondratenko noted, next year it is planned to increase the number of students in Mariupol and expand the number of specialties. But it requires not only rooms but also equipment for them.

‘We are looking for premises from communal property for an educational institution. Besides, buildings for dormitories will be purchased but they still need to be filled with equipment. Now we are looking for investors to solve these problems,’Alexander Kochurin said.
