“Oleksandr Shatkutlov’s private original cheese production” is the first business that was opened as a part of ‘Ukrainian Donetsk kurkul’ project. The local businessman has received 360 thousand UAH, by 180 thousand from the city and regional budgets, for its realization.

“We support people who are ready to go ahead and develop Mariupol, including private entrepreneurs of ‘Ukrainian Donetsk kurkul’ project. The development of food industry in the city is provided within the framework of ‘Strong Economy’ section of the Mariupol Development Strategy” - Yevhen Bodyagin, the Director of the Economic Affairs Department of the City Council, said.

In total 12 Mariupol entrepreneurs participated in the project, 4 of them received approval and support. Soon there will be another cheese diary, a soft toy factory and a hydroponic greenhouse in the city.

“Mariupol is filled with local small commodity producers step by step. Increasing number of private entrepreneurs will allow diversification of the economy”, - the Director of the Economic Affairs Department of the City Council, said.

Oleksandr, the cheese maker, does not regret his participation in ‘Ukrainian Donetsk kurkul’ project and he advises other entrepreneurs who want to start a business, not to miss their chance. He himself has devoted more than 20 years to the restaurant business. Over the years, Alexander wanted to open his own business, and he decided to start it with the help of this project.

“Cheese is the first thing I’ve learned to do professionally. When I tasted my first cheese, I checked my back, I felt like the wings were grown behind. It was very cool!” - Oleksandr shares.

The entrepreneur assures that his cheese diary will make a high-quality and useful for the health product.
